Last updated on May 19, 2021

After installing SQL Server, the next thing I install is Visual Studio. In this video, I install Visual Studio Community 2015 – the free version of Visual Studio.

You can download Visual Studio Community 2015 at: https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-community-vs.aspx

Here’s the video of how to install Visual Studio.

Hi, have you got a video on how to install the 2017 community version?
    Thanks.

      Hi Andrew,

I don’t have a video for that. I might be able to create one this week. The new installer is very different – it lets you only install specific features. The only features you should need for these lessons are the ones in “.NET desktop development”. If you want to use SQL Server, it would be useful to install “Data storage and processing”. Here’s a picture of my install screen. I have several other features installed, but you should only need the two in the red rectangles.
