One of the habits I recently added was to take time every night to plan out my next day. I’m not using anything fancy – just a Word document with the date and a bullet-point list.
However, today I found an additional benefit from doing this.
Yesterday, when I left my client’s office, I was halfway through completing a chunk of code. So I opened up my daily plan document and added a note of where I left off, and what I still needed to do.
This made it easier to get back into the code today. I didn’t waste time trying to figure out where I left off and where I needed to start.
Today’s improvement: When I finish working on a project, immediately write down the next tasks for it on my “To Do” list.
