Today I finished about 40% of the source code that will end up in the guide. It’s mostly the code to build “things” in the game; the player, monsters, potions, poisons, weapons, locations, etc.
Tomorrow I’ll work on the code to build and populate the game world, and move around in it. Since Tuesday isn’t a “gym day” for me, like today was, I may be able to complete all that code. If not, I should be done early Wednesday.
Once the source code is completed, I can start writing the guide.
I haven’t decided if I’m going to do screencasts to build the code. I think it could be helpful in some places, especially for people who haven’t written any programs in Visual Studio before. But, for most of the other lessons, a PDF file with the source code should work well.
Do you think videos of someone writing programs help you learn how to program? Please let me know by leaving a comment below.
